Learning To Harness Tantra Energy
Orgasm is usually thought of and perceived as a discharge of sexual energy. This is true in the case of normal sex, where the intimate partners have not trained their minds and bodies. When orgasm takes place in conventional sex, sexual energy is indeed released and dissipated. It can be compared to the discharging of a battery, leaving it depleted. Once a battery is drained, it is useless until it has been recharged again.
However, in tantric sex, sexual energy is not discharged but allowed to flow. This is a significant difference. Sexual vitality does not leave the body but suffuses and circulates through it, charging it with tantra energy and culminating in what is often called the whole body orgasm. In normal sex between untrained intimate partners, the energy they hold within is in a dammed-up state of repression. Orgasm happens in this state of repression, resulting in its total discharge in a brief moment of mindless pleasure.
In tantra sex, this energy has been sublimated into tantra energy. Tantra energy does not leave the generator, but pulses and flows throughout the system and then returns to its source. In normal sex, orgasm is followed by a system shutdown. This is especially true with the male, who winds up depleted and often goes off to sleep after attaining climax. In other words, there is an almost instant disconnect between the partners.
When intimate partners engage in tantric sex, their systems are not depleted but revitalized because of the free flow of tantric energy. Both partners remain conscious and open to both the moment and each other. They begin their intimate encounter in a state of complete mindfulness, which prevails throughout the encounter and remains even after orgasm. This is a state of perpetual bliss that few humans are privileged to experience.
Of course, this does not happen on its own. Both partners need to have undergone focused instruction and training in tantra yoga techniques from a qualified tantra teacher. Once they have been initiated into the secrets of ancient tantra, they are reborn from a state of emotional and spiritual numbness into a plane of total awareness – about themselves, about each other and about their relationship.
One of the fundamental precepts behind this conservation and optimizing of tantric energy lies in the practice of specific rituals. The sexual energy is first generated with extended tantra worship, and then allowed to circulate and charge the bodies and minds of both partners. Their bodies and minds need to have been properly conditioned for this.
An untrained mind and body will work together to attain quick gratification. A mind and body trained by tantra yoga and tantric meditation is conditioned for prolonged deferment of sexual gratification. If you are keen to learn more about how you and your partner can achieve this, it is time to find a tantra master and begin your initiation. Regardless of how old you are and what your previous experiences with sex have been, tantra is waiting to unfold its secrets to you.
