Setting The Stage For Tantric Sex

More often than not, we look at sex as a form of entertainment, rather than a path of personal enhancement and spiritual bonding with our partner. This is not surprising. Our careers, emotional insecurities and general distaste  for all that is not immediately within grasp don’t allow us any other attitude. When it comes to actual sex, the preoccupation with attaining orgasm often overrides all other considerations.

However, tantric sex focuses on some very different aspects of sexual union between two human beings. Apart from placing high importance on offering pleasure to our lover too, tantra and tantric sex aims to break down any physical, spiritual and emotional barriers that may exist between partners.

While instructing on tantra for couples, the tantra teacher’s objective is to bring about changes that elevate the relationship of his pupils at the subliminal level. The aim here is to divest the relationship of all selfishness and angst, and to make it a spiritual experience that brings the two partners closer together than ever before.

A tantra teacher guiding a couple on the intricacies of tantra sex will constantly emphasize that the partners must approach the sex act with appropriate reverence and respect. This is never more true than when they are setting out to practice sex-oriented tantra techniques.

The Bedroom As A Tantra Temple

To begin with, the transition from a merely carnal to a spiritual approach to sex can most definitely not take place in a commonplace setting. An unmade bed in a depressingly untidy bedroom may be okay for soulless quickies, but such a background is unsuitable for the practice of tantric sex. The bed should comfortable, and the bed sheets and pillowcases clean. Incense or aromatic oils should perfume the room to elevate the senses and soothe the spirit. The lighting should be soft and flattering to the human form – not bright and harsh in a way that highlights every blemish and imperfection.

Ensure utter and uncompromising privacy. Nothing and nobody must distract you from what you are about to do for each other. You are each others’ world – the rest of the world must be suspended and eliminated. Switch off all communication devices, and also the doorbell. The stage is now set for creating an intimate connection between the two partners. They can now proceed to begin on the primary tantra techniques that their tantra master has instructed them in.

Focus On The Journey – Not The Destination

In tantra sex, there is no destination – the journey is all. At all times, the couple must remember that it is not about attaining orgasm, but about creating, maintaining and heightening their intimacy to an act of loving, erotic worship. The intimacy exercises they will engage in are not merely foreplay, but erotic tantra rituals.

Holding each other’s gaze as much as possible is vitally important. The eyes are the windows of the soul – and as your tantra teacher has told you, it is a soul connection that you are striving for here. You will find that prolonged eye contact at all stages of tantric lovemaking will also sustain the sexual ecstasy and energy for much longer than would otherwise be possible.

Do not hurry into intercourse. Rather, indulge each other with soft, gentle kisses for at least twenty minutes. Avoid direct genital contact for that period. If you are uncomfortable with utter silence in this period, whisper tender words of endearment to each other. Communicate your love and cherishment for each other by verbal and nonverbal means. If you find yourself being swept away by desire to launch into intercourse, concentrate on your breathing. Avoid hyperventilating; engage in tantra breathing, softly and evenly.

This is the very first stage of tantra sex, and it must not be circumvented. Divine sexual bliss awaits as you slowly segue into the more intense erotic techniques and tantra positions taught to you by your tantra teacher.

Tantra Sex – The Gateway To Your Ultimate Sexual Potential

What is tantra sex? This cannot be explained in puerile terms.

Tantra sex is a lot more than just the practice of a few kamasutra positions. If you have ever known a state of complete sexual ecstasy, how do you recall it? Surely you felt something profound. Maybe you discovered a new depth to the physical and emotional connection between you and your partner. Maybe you experienced a brief glimmer of the divinity of the man-woman relationship – the divinity it was always meant to have.

This is what tantra sex promises us, but it is beyond our grasp because it is beyond our comprehension.

We all want that kind of sexual connection with our partner. We all crave to reach the ultimate heights of sexual bliss. And yet, an accomplished tantra teacher will tell you that we also fear these states. This is because we feel inadequate – both physically and emotionally. And so we avoid the very states that we crave. The sexual passion and the blissful intimacy perpetually elude us.

Under the instructions of a tantra master, this ancient art of love and life holds within it the secrets of perfect, profound sexual intimacy – a level of intimacy that each of us was always meant to have, but never claim. Tantra sex is not a series of sexual techniques, it is a means to attain – and sustain – the joy of ultimate erotic pleasure in our lives. It not only embellishes our bodies with new sexual prowess and vigor, but our minds with a new understanding of us as perfect sexual beings.

The secrets of ancient tantra are more than sixty centuries old. Originating from India, they were born from a weariness of religious stances against sex. Tantra set out to disprove the lie that sex and sexual desire are immoral and impediments on the road to spiritual enlightenment. It upheld the ultimate truth – that our erotic desires and drives are, in fact, both manifestations of our divineness and tools that we must use to reach its fullest potential.

Thus were born the concepts of the tantra goddess and the tantra god – the Shakti and Shiva in each of us. The practice of tantra sex is a celebration of our sexuality – it provides us with the means of the Ultimate Celebration. Once you master its secrets under the tutelage of an experienced tantra master, you will never fear sex again. You will be suffused with a sexual confidence you never thought possible. Your body will bond with your spirit, and you will never know any division between them again.

You will have attained your highest sexual potential – a potential that will last your entire lifetime…

Erotic Tantra – The Path To Complete Sexual Empowerment

Ancient tantra scripture describes erotic tantra as something much more than just a feast of the physical senses. In fact, erotic tantra is a magnificent spiritual experience that is unlike any other because it zeroes in on the practitioner’s mind and soul. As the practitioner builds up erotic energy, he or she becomes aware of many new layers and sub-layers of this sublime energy. The power that the knowledge and practice of erotic tantra techniques generates permeates and finally transforms the practitioner’s life – forever.

Erotic tantra sessions are a unique way for you and your partner to discover your latent sexual energy, and to make it work for you in fascinating ways. The practice of these tantra techniques opens the relationship up into a completely new dimension. This dimension transcends both emotional love and physical passion – it is a fusion of both, yet something much higher and purer.

Erotic tantra is based on the ancient scripture ‘Yoni Vigyan Sutra’. This is an invaluable treatise of tantra for couples who seek to take their relationship to the highest possible level. Under the guidance of an expert tantra master, its secrets unfold first in theory and then in practice. This scripture and some related texts are the very essence of erotic tantra -  a often misunderstood component of tantric spirituality.

When you have fully understood these concepts, your tantra teacher should make available to you a primer that outlines the relevant techniques in a structured manner. These techniques should be based on authentic tantra yoga ‘paddhatis’, and must be approached in a spirit of reverence for the power they wield. Attempting to learn erotic tantra techniques in a frivolous and irreverent manner is self-defeating and utterly fruitless. It is here that the direction that an authentic tantra master can give is invaluable.

On successful completion of such a course, you should have assimilated:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the overall practice of erotic tantra
  • A firm grasp on the process of using your sexual energy to accelerate your spiritual evolution and personal growth
  • The skills required to increase erotic pleasure by applying the 64 basic techniques of erotic tantra

Remember, tantra is the deepest possible study into the nature and essence of sex as pure energy or ‘shakti’. The components of this science that deal directly with the enhancement of sexual energy and pleasure use the dormant eroticism inherent in every living being to stir and awaken the Kundalini Shakti. In this way, the student of tantra is prepared for the opening of all the chakras, resulting in a life-changing Kundalini Awakening. The application of erotic tantra techniques on the base chakra (also known as the muladhara chakra) is the only way to activate the spiritual vibrations necessary for awakening of the dormant shakti.

At times, these techniques can actually use the sex act itself to awaken the Kundalini completely. However, the prerequisite for such an ideal learning situation is the ability to control one’s orgasmic response. Only a dedicated study of tantra can bring such control, and dedicated study is necessarily guided by an expert. Tantra is not a do-it-yourself art, and must therefore be learned and practiced under the supervision of an authentic tantra teacher.
